Motorcyclist dies in Fairfax crash

A 53-year-old motorcyclist was killed early Sunday morning when he crashed into a sedan that had just turned onto Lee Highway near the Fairfax County Parkway, police said.

Fred Timothy Hall, of Fairfax, was driving a Harley Davidson westbound on Lee Highway around 1:03 a.m. when a 17-year-old girl driving a Toyota Camry made a right turn from Buckley's Gate Manor, according to police. Fairfax County police said Hall had been traveling at high speeds.

Hall struck the Camry from behind and was thrown from his motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The teenager was taken to Inova Fair Oaks Hospital for minor injuries, police said.

Police said they received reports of a motorcycle traveling at high speeds in that area just before the crash.
