Motorcyclist dies in Huntington-area crash

A motorcyclist died Wednesday evening in the Huntington area after he struck a car and was thrown from his bike, according to Fairfax County police.

Hassan Lowe, 43, of Alexandria, was traveling southbound on North Kings Highway around 7:30 p.m. when his motorcycle hit a car making a turn onto Fort Drive, police said.

Lowe was tossed from his motorcycle, police said. Emergency crews transported him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Lincoln remained at the scene of the crash.

Police continue to investigate, but said speed and alcohol did not appear to be factors in the accident.
