Murder charge for D.C. man in July shooting

A man has been charged in the early July fatal shooting of a 19 year old in Southeast D.C., D.C. police said.

William Faison, 21, of Southeast D.C., was arrested Tuesday and charged with first-degree murder while armed, police said. He was wanted for the killing of Jeffrey Yarnell Covington of Upper Marlboro.

Officers responded to a shooting on July 2 at around 1:30 a.m., police said. They found Covington suffering from a gunshot wound in the 600 block of 46th Place in Southeast D.C.

Covington was taken to a hospital, where he died.
