Murder charge for District man after Wednesday shooting

A District man was charged with murder Wednesday night after a 30-year-old man was gunned down earlier in the evening in Northeast Washington, police said.

The victim, Draynell P. Henderson,was found bleeding from gunshot wounds shortly after 8 p.m. in the 600 block of 24th Street NE, police said. Police later arrested Keyon Caldwell, 33, of Northeast, and charged him in the killing.

Authorities did not disclose the alleged motive for the shooting. Caldwell was charged with second-degree murder while armed.
