Murder charge for Northeast man in deadly Saturday stabbing

A 21-year-old Northeast Washington man has been charged with murder in a deadly stabbing on Saturday.

Police said they found Charles Anthony Scott, 20, of Northeast, and another man suffering from stab wounds when they arrived in the 5300 block of Ames St. NE at about 9:50 p.m. Scott died at a hospital, police said.

Police arrested Donzell Butler on Tuesday, charging him with second-degree murder while armed in Scott’s killing. Butler was not the second man wounded, police said.

Scott was one of three men killed during a span of a few hours late Saturday and early Sunday in incidents police believe were unrelated.
