Olney woman dies after car accident

A 56-year-old Olney woman died after a Wednesday morning car accident in Rockville, Montgomery County Police said.

Patricia Greer Parks, of the 18200 block of Rolling Meadow Way, exited her car after the accident but then began to complain of pain, police said. They said Parks lost consciousness as she was being taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead.

Police said that just after 7:30 a.m. officers responded to a collision at the intersection of Rockville Pike and Old Georgetown road. As they arrived, Parks and the other driver already had gotten out of their cars and were standing near the scene.

A preliminary investigation shows that Parks’s 2000 Chrysler Sebring struck the back of a Ford Taurus that had slowed for traffic, police said.

Police said that Parks began to complain of pain as officers were talking to the drivers and that an ambulance was called.

The investigation is ongoing and police ask that any witnesses contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 301-840-2435. Callers may remain anonymous.
