One killed, five injured in Seat Pleasant crash

One man was killed in a crash in Seat Pleasant on Saturday that also injured two adults and three children, according to the Prince George’s County Police.

Reggie Eugene Crawford, 31, of Hillcrest Heights, Md., was driving east on the 6500 block of Seat Pleasant Drive when he crossed over the double-yellow lines into westbound traffic at approximately 7:10 p.m., authorities said. Crawford was ejected from his Chevy Malibu when it collided with a Dodge Magnum that was traveling in the opposite direction, according to police; he was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The driver of the Dodge Magnum and an adult passenger suffered serious injuries, according to police officials, who did not identify the driver or the passengers. Three children who were also passengers in the Dodge Magnum — an 8-year old boy and two girls, ages 6 and 3 — were transported to Children’s Hospital with what police described as “minor non-life threatening injuries.”

Police said it was unclear whether speed or alcohol were contributing factors in the fatal crash.
