One person was killed and a second person was injured after a one-car accident in Triangle Monday morning, police said.

Prince William County police said they received several 911 calls about an overturned car off of Joplin Road between mile marker 20 and 21.

When police and rescue crews arrived they found the driver, 42-year-old Dennis Dale Lockwood of Triangle, and a passenger in the front seat of the car. Lockwood was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The passenger, a 51-year-old woman from Triangle whose name was not released by police, was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries, police said.
