Pedestrian killed in Beltsville hit-and-run

A man died after he was struck by a car late Tuesday night in Beltsville, Prince George’s County police said.

The fatal hit-and-run occurred around 11:20 p.m. near the intersection of Montgomery Road and Baltimore Avenue, police said. The victim was found unconscious on Montgomery Road. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A witness gave police a description of the vehicle and its driver, and both were found less than a half-mile away, near the 4500 block of Romlon Street.

The identities of the victim and driver have not yet been released by police.
