Pedestrian killed in Germantown

A car struck and killed a pedestrian shortly before 1 a.m. on Germantown Road in Germantown, Montgomery County police said.

Dominique G. McFarlane-Chase, 20, of Gaithersburg, was hit by a Lexus as he was crossing the southbound lanes of Germantown Road, near the intersection of Aircraft Drive, police said.

Officers were called to the scene around 12:50 a.m.

The victim was transported to the hospital, where he later died.

The driver of the Lexus, who police identified as Germantown resident Leonoard Mensah, remained at the scene.

The circumstances surround ing the collision remain under investigation, and no charges have been filed.

Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the accident to call 301-840-2435.
