Pedestrian killed in morning Alexandria crash

A man was killed Friday morning after a car hit him as he crossed a street in Alexandria, police said.

The man’s identity was not immediately known, police said. He was killed at about 7 a.m. when he was hit by a 2002 Honda Accord heading west on Braddock Road, according to police.

The man, who police said was crossing in the middle of the road, died at the scene. A police news release did not say whether the car driver stayed at the scene, or whether that driver was injured.

Police asked anyone with information about the incident to call 703-746-4444.
