PG police seize 29 illegal slot machines at sports bar

Authorities raided a Marlow Heights sports bar and seized nearly 30 slot machines Wednesday night during an investigation of illegal gambling at the establishment, Prince George’s County police officials said.

Investigators acted on a tip and served a search warrant at the Marlow Winghouse and Sports Bar in the 4100 block Branch Avenue about 6 p.m., said Cpl. Henry Tippett, a spokesman. Police found 29 slot machines in a back room of the bar, and some patrons were gambling as officers executed the raid, he said.

Police seized the machines and a large but undisclosed amount of cash. The investigation continues.
