Investigators in Prince George’s County will hold a news conference Monday following a violent weekend of shootings that left three people dead and five others injured.

The shootings took place between Friday evening and Sunday morning. Eight people were shot in four separate incidents, Prince George’s County police said.

The first shooting was Friday night about 10:30 p.m. Three men were shot in the 6700 block of Northwest Drive in Hyattsville, a largely residential area near the Mall at Prince George’s.

On Saturday, an Alexandria man was slain in Lewisdale. Lester Amilcar Flores-Quintanilla, 19, was found lying in the 2000 block of Woodberry Street with gunshot wounds about 12:30 a.m. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Sunday morning, two men were shot shortly after 8 a.m. in the 2700 block of Judith Avenue in a residential area of District Heights. Both men were taken to a local hospital. One was pronounced dead and the other has life-threatening injuries, police said.

The fourth incident took place Sunday around 9:30 p.m., when two women were shot in the Suitland-Silver Hill neighborhood. One of the women was fatally shot in the 3500 block of Terrace Drive. The other woman was shot in the leg and wounded nearby.

The investigations in all four incidents are ongoing.

Police Chief Mark Magaw is expected to brief the public at 10:30 a.m. Monday in a news conference at police headquarters, 7600 Barlowe Road in Palmer Park.
