Man fatally shot in Southeast identified as 19-year-old

A man fatally shot late Sunday afternoon in Southeast Washington has been identified as a 19-year-old, according to D.C. police.

James Edward Dean, who lived in Southeast Washington, was pronounced dead at a hospital after the shooting, which occurred about 5:15 p.m. in the 3100 block of Buena Vista Terrace.

Police said that officers responding to calls for gunshots found Dean. Authorities released no other details, but are offering a reward up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
