Police identify man killed by trash truck in D.C.

The pedestrian struck and killed by a trash truck in the District on Monday has been identified as a 31-year-old Northwest Washington man.

Stanley W. Huff Jr. was struck shortly before 2 p.m. as the truck was backing out an alley in the 2900 block of Harvard Court NW in the Columbia Heights neighborhood, police said. They said Huff was walking on Harvard Court at the time.

The incident remains under investigation by the police department’s major crash unit.
