Two women were sexually assaulted in Forestville during a 10-day period this month, Prince George’s County police reported.

The first attack occurred around midnight on Sept. 6, in the 6200 block of Surrey Service Drive. The victim reported being approached from behind and inappropriately touched by a man she did not recognize, police said.

Police said that after a short struggle the victim, whose name was not released, was able to escape.

Police describe the suspect as a black man, 25 to 30 years old with short hair and wearing a black t-shirt and dark jeans.

The second assault took place about 10 p.m. on Sept. 16, in the area of Pennsylvania Avenue and Walters Lane. The victim reported being approached from behind and taken to a wooded area, where she was sexually assaulted.

The victim, told police that the suspect left the area on foot. No description of the attacker was provided.

Police are investigating the assaults and said it is unknown if the two attacks are connected.
