Police make second arrest in 2011 slaying

D.C. police have arrested a second man in connection with the shooting death last year of a 34-year-old Maryland man.

Anthony Campbell, 34, of Northeast Washington was arrested Friday and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of Antwain Henderson. Henderson’s body was found Aug. 31 in a burning vehicle in Capitol Heights. Investigators believe he had been fatally shot earlier that day in Northeast Washington.

Sean Donnelle Hawkins, 37, who was arrested June 14 and charged with second-degree murder in connection with Henderson’s death, spoke of two accomplices, one who pulled the trigger and another who helped dispose of the body, according to court papers.

It was unclear Saturday what role Campbell is accused of playing in the incident.
