Police probe remains found in Hillcrest Heights

Prince George’s County police are investigating skeletal remains that were discovered in a wooded area in Hillcrest Heights Monday morning, authorities said.

The remains were discovered about 10:30 a.m. near the 2100 block of Sayan Court, not far from Hillcrest Heights Elementary School, said Cpl. Clinton Copeland, a police spokesman.

Investigators have not yet formally determined whether the remains are those of a human, Copeland said, and they are being sent to the medical examiner’s office for further examination.

Copeland said he was not sure how the remains were first discovered.
