Police search for three suspects in College Park carjacking

Police are looking for three men they believe are responsible for beating up a man and stealing his car in College Park Tuesday night.

The carjacking took place shortly after 11 p.m. near the University of Maryland campus, in the 4500 block of Hartwick Road, Prince George’s County police said.

According to police, a man was trying to open his car when three men approached, assaulted him, and took his belongings and vehicle.

The victim, 35, does not attend the university, police said. Authorities did not describe the extent of the man’s injuries.

The car was later found about 10 miles away in Wheaton.

Police did not release descriptions of the suspects.
