Police seek suspect in child sex offense in Pasadena

Anne Arundel County police released a composite sketch Tuesday of a suspect they believe committed a sexual offense against a 9-year-old girl in Pasadena Feb. 14. (Anne Arundel County police)

Police began investigating the case Sunday after the victim’s parents reported the incident. The victim reported that she had been walking home from Lake Shore Elementary School between 3 and 3:30 p.m. when the attack occurred. As the victim walked through the nearby Riding Woods neighborhood, the suspect grabbed her and pulled her into a nearby wooded area, police said.

There have not been any reports of recent suspicious activity or suspicious persons in the area. Police said they have increased patrols in the area around the school and will continue to patrol throughout this week.

Police have released a composite sketch of the suspect. They described the suspect as a black male, between the ages of 35 and 40, who is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs between 175 and 200 pounds. He was clean-shaven with a bald head, and was last seen wearing a brown and yellow jacket, black shirt and black pants.

Anyone with information on this case should contact contact Detective Justin Widup at 410-222-3468.
