A woman was grazed in the head by a bullet as she slept in her Southeast D.C. apartment Thursday night, police said.

The woman was awoken by gunfire outside her home in the 2700 block of Douglass Place around midnight and noticed blood dripping from her forehead, according to police.

The woman was taken to a local hospital, but is expected to recover. Police said she was not the intended target.

Authorities did not have additional details about the shooting, but said another man was also shot in the leg around the same time a short distance away. Police are investigating whether the two shootings are related. No arrests have been made.
