At least six people were injured Friday evening in a crash on the Capital Beltway in Montgomery County, authorities said.

The crash occurred about 6:45 p.m. on the inner loop near River Road said assistant county fire chief Scott Graham.

Three of the six suffered serious injuries that were regarded as life-threatening, Graham said.

During the crash, he said, an SUV apparently overturned and struck another vehicle.
