Shots fired at DC police in NE

Two men were arrested Saturday night in the Trinidad area of Northeast Washington after shots were fired at police, authorities said.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

It began when officers in an unmarked vehicle spotted two people about 7:30 p.m. who appeared to be following a man on Montello Avenue.

The officers got out of their vehicle and approached the two, but one turned, drew a gun and fired several shots at t he officers, police said.

A foot chase ensued and the officers made two arrests, police said. They also seized a firearm, according to police.

Police said the officers did not fire their own w eapons.
