Students rob schoolmate at Flowers High School

Two students used a pellet gun to rob another student at Flowers High School in Springdale Thursday, authorities said.

The incident occurred in the mid-morning hours in the locker room of the school’s gym, said Briant Coleman, a Prince George’s Schools spokesman. He said both student suspects fled after the incident, though one later returned and was taken into police custody. The other, he said, remains at large.

Coleman said the student who was robbed was not hurt. A source familiar with the case said the robbers made off with some cash and a cell phone.

Coleman said school officials initiated a robo call and sent text and e-mail alerts informing parents of the incident, and a letter would be sent home tomorrow.

Coleman said he could not provide any identifying information about the students involved, except that they were all high school aged.
