Man, 94, found dead in Alexandria; fatality called suspicious

In what police are calling a suspicious death, a 94-year-old man was found dead Wednesday night in a house in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria.

Shortly before 7 p.m., a resident of the house came home and found the man suffering from trauma to the upper body, Alexandria police said in a prepared statement. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was not immediately identified. An autopsy will determine the cause of death, authorities said.

Further details were not immediately available.
