A teenager was arrested Tuesday in connection with a fatal stabbing in Northwest D.C., police announced.

Derek Johnson, 17, of the District, is being charged as an adult with second-degree murder.

Johnson allegedly killed Jamar M. Freeman, a 17-year-old from Southeast D.C., on Oct. 8.

Freeman was found bleeding in the 900 block of Quincy Street NW shortly before 7:30 p.m., police said. He was later pronounced dead at a hospital.

Police have not released a motive in the slaying.
