A 16-year-old boy was shot and killed in Southeast D.C. Thursday night, D.C. police said.

Officers found the teen with multiple gunshot wounds in the 1300 block of Congress Street around 9:30 p.m. He later died. No arrests have been made in the case and police have not released the boy’s name.

Update: Pastor R. Joyce Scott, who says one of her grandsons was killed in a January shooting and another injured, is organizing a community rally at 1 p.m. today at the scene, where several other deaths have occurred. Scott said the purpose of the rally is to “declare Ward 8 a killing field while our politicians play tricks and trash with city cash,” she said in an interview. “This city is not taking seriously urban crime, and neither are our churches. When are we going to stop drinking the political Kool-Aid and wake up?”
