Three people have been arrested in connection with a killing in Glen Burnie early Sunday.
Darren Dwayne Bell, of Baltimore, was found dead in a wooded area in the area of Tanyard Cove Road and Marley Neck Boulevard, Anne Arundel County police said in a news release.
Police discovered his body after being called to the area for a report of a disturbance. Bell, 26, had been shot and stabbed, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
When police first arrived at Tanyard Cove Road and Marley Neck Boulevard, about4:05 a.m. Sunday, they found two vehicles parked along a dirt road.
Inside one of the cars were a man and a woman, 24-year-old Tremain Celos Calhoun and 27-year-old Erica Tywanda Banks.
The second car was unoccupied, but a man identified as 47-year-old Eric Glenn Banks, Erica Banks’s father, was found walking toward the vehicle from a wooded area nearby.
Police then searched the wooded area and found Bell’s body. Calhoun and the Bankses were taken into custody, and the two vehicles were searched; a handgun was found in one of the cars, according to police.
Detectives have determined that Bell and Erica Banks were longtime acquaintances involved in an ongoing dispute.
Police did not release information about the nature of the dispute or the reason why the four were in the area together.
Eric Banks was charged with first-d
egree murder, and Erica Banks and Calhoun were charged with possession of a handgun.
The case remains under investigation.
