A juvenile has been arrested in connection with the stabbing of three girls in Northeast Washington Wednesday night, D.C. police said.

The victims, whose ages were not given, were found wounded just after 9 p.m. in the 100 block of Franklin Street, said Officer Paul Metcalf, a police spokesman. But police think the victims were stabbed nearby, in the 400 block of Rhode Island Avenue, Metcalf said.

Police said investigators believe that two groups of young people got into an argument at a McDonald’s restaurant in the 400 block of Rhode Island Avenue. They left the restaurant but the argument continued, and a fight started about three blocks away, authorities said.,

The girls’ wounds were not believed to be life-threatening. The investigation continues.
