Three men charged with buying guns for others at Leesburg store

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Three Virginia men have been charged in federal court with illegally buying more than two dozen rifles at a Leesburg gun shop.

The three were arrested Monday after agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms staked out the shop where the purchases were made. Arrested were 25-year-old Jarret Ambers of Sterling; 25-year-old Ahmed Farajallah of Arlington and 40-year-old Steven May of Potomac Falls. All three were in custody Wednesday.

An affidavit states that May and Farajallah persuaded Ambers to buy the rifles in his name and then transfer possession to them, a violation of federal law.

The affidavit states that on three occasions between April and July, Ambers was paid $8,600 to buy a total 26 rifles in his name for May and Farajallah.
