Two armed robberies were carried out late Monday night in the Friendship Heights area of Northwest Washington, and another robbery was committed earlier in another upper Northwest neighborhood.

Police said they thought that the same robbers might have been involved in the two gunpoint robberies, which occurred around 11 p.m. at River Road and 46th Street and in the 5000 block of Wisconsin Avenue.

Victims in those two robberies told police there were three robbers, at least one masked, who apparently got away in a car.

The first of the three robberies occurred about 5:30 p.m. in the 3800 block of Warren Street NW, police said. The address, in the North Cleveland Park area, is about a mile south of Friendship Heights. Three robbers were also involved in that incident, police said, but no weapon was seen. Two of the robbers punched the victim, police said.
