Three shot in D.C. on Halloween night

Three people were shot and wounded in two incidents in the District Monday night, and it appeared that all three might be teenagers.

In the first shooting, a victim described by police as a teenager was wounded near the New York Avenue Metro rail station in Northeast Washington.

Police said the victim’s head was apparently grazed in the incident, which occurred about 8:40 p.m.

About 20 minutes later, two people, male and female, were wounded in the Petworth area of Northwest Washington. They were hit at Georgia Avenue and Decatur Street, police said.

Neither suffered a life-threatening wound, according to police. Their exact ages could not be learned.

Police said they knew of no connection between the incidents.
