Back and side portions of a townhouse near Mt. Vernon Square have collapsed, according to D.C. fire officials.

The rear part of the house, in the 1100 block of 6th Street NW, fell down, as did part of one of the side walls, according to Fire Battalion Chief Brian Lee. The back of the the roof, first, second and third floors are now lying in the basement.

The townhouse was undergoing renovations at the time of the collapse, so no one was living inside, fire officials said. No injuries were reported.

Officials initially said that the collapse occurred at 1133 6th Street NW, a property renovated in 2009 by the Gorman Property Group — now known as Lock 7 Development.

Lock 7 Development officials on Tuesday said the damage occurred at an adjacent property. Fire officials could not immediately confirm whether a mistaken address had been provided.
