Two charged in teen’s stabbing

Police have charged two 17-year-old males in connection with the stabbing of a Northwestern High School student Wednesday in an area about a half mile from the school, authorities said Thursday.

The teens were charged as juveniles in connection with the stabbing, which occurred just before 3 p.m. in the 6700 block of Belcrest Road, authorities said. It remains unclear what sparked the incident, authorities said.

Police declined to immediately release the names of those charged because they were juveniles. The stabbed student, who was also 17, was taken to the hospital but is expected to survive, police said.
