Two drivers die in Davidsonville crash

The drivers of two cars that collided in Davidsonville on Monday evening died from their injuries, authorities said.

Officers responding to Davidsonville Road near Rossback Road about 5:51 p.m. found two cars in the roadway with “heavy” front-end damage, police said.

Police say it appears that a 2002 Honda Accord heading north on Davidsonville Road drifted off the right side of the road, then crossed into oncoming traffic, colliding nearly head-on with a 2000 Cadillac SLS.

Police continue to investigate. The Honda’s driver, Stephanie N. Banchero, 26, of Gambrills, and the Cadillac’s driver, Mary E. Corkill, 70, of Davidsonville, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
