Two men stabbed in Columbia Heights during possible robbery attempt

Two men were stabbed Thursday afternoon on a Columbia Heights street in an incident authorities are investigating as a robbery, D.C. police said.

Officers who were called to the area of 14th and Fairmont Streets NW found two men conscious and breathing just before 4 p.m., said Officer Paul Metcalf, a spokesman. The men were taken to a hospital, but their conditions were not immediately known.

It was not clear whether both men may have been the victims of a robbery or if they stabbed each other, Metcalf said.
