Two shot, wounded in Langley Park area: police

Two people were shot and wounded during an apparent robbery or robbery attempt in the Langley Park area Tuesday, authorities said.

Officers were called to the 7900 block of 24th Avenue just before 2:30 p.m. for the incident, though it is unclear if that was the scene of the shooting or simply the location from which a person dialed 911, said Cpl. Larry Johnson, a Prince George's County police spokesman.

Johnson said two people were shot during a robbery or robbery attempt, and their injuries were thought not to be life threatening. He said police had made at least one arrest.

Julie Parker, the chief Prince George's County police spokeswoman, posted on Twitter that two suspects were in custody and that the two shooting victims were men. Her post also said an officer was injured, though it was unclear how.

Updates will be provided as they become available.
