Video released of armed 7-Eleven robbery

Montgomery County police on Friday released dramatic surveillance video of an armed robbery of a 7-Eleven store in hopes that someone will step forward to help identify either or both masked men. The two suspects can be seen pointing guns and taking money, cigarettes and other store merchandize.

About 3 a.m., April 27, police were called to the store at 10203 New Hampshire Avenue, which is in the Silver Spring area near Powder Mill Road — just north of the Capital Beltway. Officers learned that two men entered the store and confronted two employees. The robbers demanded the clerks open registers, and left with cash and merchandize stuffed into bags they brought into the store.

The first suspect is described as a black male, about 5-foot, 7-inches tall with a thin build. The second is desribed as a black male, about 6-feet tall, with a medium build.

Detectives want anyone with information to call 240-773-5100 or 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).
