Video: Police seek witnesses in July 1 fatal Arlington crash

Arlington police have released a video in hopes of finding witnesses to a deadly July 1 traffic fatality.

The video, released on YouTube, is meant to “solicit additional information from witnesses and not to identify a suspect,” according to police. It shows people on a sidewalk walking past a man who had just been fatally struck by a car.

The video, taken by a Metrobus surveillance camera, shows part of the aftermath of an incident in which the man was struck July 1 while crossing Columbia Pike at Four Mile Run Drive. The incident occurred two days after the June 29 storm, which left the traffic signal dark at that intersection.

Edgar Francisco Aguilar, 35, was killed in the incident. The driver stayed on the scene, according to police.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Bob Icolari at 703-228-4240.
