Woman, 65, arrested in connection with fatal shooting in Northeast Washington

A 65-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday in connection with a fatal shooting in Northeast Washington, D.C. police said.

Claire Rice, of Silver Spring, is accused of killing 58-year-old Anthony Garland Rice, of Northwest Washington.

Police said Anthony Rice’s body was found in the 3100 block of Fort Lincoln Drive NE the morning of Dec. 17, 2012. He had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Claire Rice has been charged with first-degree murder in the slaying. Police have not released a motive or given details of the relationship between the victim and suspect.
