Woman arrested, charged with Suitland child abduction

Hours after a missing baby was found unharmed in Suitland, Howard County Police arrested the woman they say abducted her.

Police say Tiara Monique-Williams, 23, took the baby late Wednesday night while babysitting at the child’s mother’s home in the 9400 block of Ridge View Drive in Columbia.

The incident was reported to police around midnight. The baby was found around 2 p.m. Thursday at the home of a relative of Monique-Williams.

Police said that Monique-Williams was apprehended later the same day, when she returned to her relative’s house.

Monique-Williams will be charged with child abduction, police said. The relative will not be charged.
