A motorist was injured in a two-car crash in Lanham Wednesday evening when her car collided with a fire department vehicle.
According to Prince George’s County fire officials, a volunteer fire chief was responding to a house fire when he and the female driver collided at the intersection of Cipriano Road and Braue Brooke Drive.
The woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries, officials said, and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The fire chief was also taken to the hospital for a post-crash screening.
The house fire that the chief had been responding to at the time of the crash was handled by arriving units. The cause of the blaze was determined to be a malfunctioning chimney, officials said.
The crash investigation is ongoing.
