Woman killed in apparent hit-and-run in Clinton

A woman was killed in an apparent hit-and-run collision in the Clinton area of Prince George’s County late Friday or early Saturday, authorities said.

Maryland State Police troopers were called to the northbound lanes of Route 5 near Surratts Road just after midnight to investigate a report that a woman’s body was lying on the left shoulder of the roadway, authorities said. The woman was

dead, and what appeared to be debris from a late-model Nissan was found on the scene, authorities said.

Police said the woman was not carrying identification, and investigators on Saturday were working to identify her. They are also trying to locate the driver of the vehicle that hit her, authorities said.
