Woman sexually assaulted at gunpoint in District, with child in vehicle, police say

A woman who stopped her car in the 700 block of F Street NW at about 7:30 p.m. Thursday told police she was sexually assaulted by a man who opened her vehicle’s passenger door and ordered her at gunpoint to drive to another area, where he attacked her.

The woman’s 15-month-old son was in the back seat of the vehicle but was not physically injured in the incident, said police spokeswoman Gwendolyn Crump.

The man directed the woman to park after taking her to an area that she told police she was unfamiliar with, police said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099 or 1-888-919-CRIME (1-888-919-2746). Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.
