Woman shot in Northeast Washington

A woman was shot Wednesday night in Northeast Washington, D.C. police said.

The shooting happened in the 3300 block of Alden Place about 7:20 p.m., said Officer Hugh Carew, a spokesman. Police found a woman unconscious and possibly breathing, shortly after being called to the scene.

No further details were immediately available.

Earlier Wednesday, a man was fatally shot in the 1300 block of Saratoga Place NE about 5 p.m., police said.
