Woodbridge man beaten with baseball bat

A 36-year-old Woodbridge man was beaten with a baseball bat Sunday evening after he stopped and confronted a man he said was driving recklessly in his neighborhood, police said.

The man reported that he saw someone driving recklessly on Mt. Pleasant Drive and confronted the driver when the car stopped near his home, police said. The driver sped away but returned shortly after and a fight broke out. One person in the car struck the man with a baseball bat and another cut him with an unknown sharp object, police said.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital for his injuries, which are not life threatening, police said.

Prince William County police have obtained an arrest warrant charging Jason Edward Johnson, 23, with malicious wounding, and are searching for him. Johnson is white, about 5 foot 7 and weighs about 190 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair.
