Three youths were taken into custody Tuesday in connection with a fire at a Wal-Mart store in the Germantown area, authorities said.

The fire was reported shortly before 2 p.m. in the store in the 20900 block of Frederick Road, a Montgomery County fire department spokesman said.

He said the youths were found in a nearby store, and they were released to their parents. Specific charges could not be learned immediately.

The fire was being extinguished with in-store extinguishers when firefighters arrived, said Assistant Chief Scott Graham.

He said no injuries were reported. He said the store was closed for about two hours.
