After the death of a Mount Pleasant man who was hit by a falling tree branch, a griper is concerned that a large tree branch hanging over a bike path could snap and “pulverize anyone who is below it when it happens.”

A griper is concerned this tree along Rock Creek Park could cause harm to walkers and bikers.

So he did what concerned citizens do: he said he tried to get the issue resolved. But after two attempts, he said he has had no luck.

“I posted about a dangerous tree along the Rock Creek Park bike path just north of Q Street,” the griper wrote in an e-mail to the Post. “Within a few hours, the 311 Center had ‘closed’ the issue. It’s been five days and nothing has happened to resolve this situation.”

The Daily Gripe contacted the D.C. Department of Transportation’s Urban Forestry division, which handles these situations. We will update you when we receive a response.
