In both cases, Murray was there because of his son, rising assistant coach Luke. Luke is friends with former Mason assistant Chris Caputo, which explained his presence in South Carolina. Luke is now with Towson, which is why Murray showed up at the Patriot Center box office to pick up buy his general admission ticket on Saturday, according to Steve Goff.

After Mason officials saw Murray, they escorted him down to courtside seats, and 5,000 fans immediately began tweeting about their celebrity guest.
