At last night’s unveiling, Brian Orakpo and Ryan Kerrigan shared their thoughts with CSN Washington’s Chick Hernandez on the Redskins 80th Anniversary throwback uniforms.

“I’m a big fan of it,” said Orakpo. “It’s different; I think it looks good. You know, hopefully we play good in ‘em. And I love the helmets; it’s different so I’m excited.”

Kerrigan agreed.

“I like ’em. I like ’em a lot,” he said. “Like Deion Sanders said: Look good, feel good, feel good, play good. So hopefully that amounts to us this year.”

You can rarely go wrong quoting Deion Sanders.

The Redskins also debuted the long-awaited practice bubble, something that Orakpo says can only make the team better.

“We won’t have an excuse any more,” Orakpo said. “We’ll have to go out there and actually do work, so I’m excited. You know, we tend to lose a lot of work when we have to go in the airport hangers and go to Lifetime and stuff like that. We can finally go out there in a bubble just like every other team and get some good work done.”

Also, RGIII can worry less about his lack of rain experience.

The throwback uniform release was a bit of a relief since throwbacks don’t always look pretty. Chick asked Orakpo and Kerrigan about Pittsburgh’s muc h-maligned anniversary throwbacks.

“It’s horrendous,” Orakpo said of the Steelers’ vintage look. “It is terrible.”

“I’ll just say I’m glad I have ours and not theirs,” added Kerrigan.
